Are you taking the prius mate?

I love the concept of hybrid cars…clean air, lovely noiseless environment, kinda Knightrider-y….

Just have a small problem with the big electricity burning, effluent producing, chemical haven that is the factory making these things…..how come we need so many new cars?

My 1988 Toyota Corolla is the best vehicle I have ever owned - seriously. Cost me $900 3 years ago, it has now done 289,000kms and I have spent about $1500 on repairs and oil during time owned.

The Government [er the Motor Trade Association lobbyists possibly?] want me to buy a new car…waffor? status? my little 1.3 does better mileage than a prius and doesn’t burn oil - all she needs is oil change every 10000kms. Amortise the car over 20 years since she was new…and we are talking awesome environmental return for what she cost in resources to build.
How come ’sales people’ need a big ass Holden V6? Don’t they mainly drive on their own? C’mon Government/LTSA/MTA…who you kidding? Small hybrid cars…how about limiting all new car sales to 600cc?
